Wonderful piece my friend. "... The insanity of empire was just as prevalent then as it is now. We are but the heirs of that insanity, and it is up to us to end the cycle." I feel this, and many other things you said here, in my bones.
I enjoyed reading this. I too am from America, and have been slowly living for the past 5 years a worldschooling lifestyle. I can relate to quite a few things that you wrote in this article. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts here.
Thank you for reading! My wife and I recently hosted a group of worldschoolers at our farm in Thailand! It was wonderful hearing of their adventures! Come out and visit us sometime! We would love to host you.
"Everything in life is fluid and ever-changing. We inter-are." Not to supplant my own ideologies here - yet this speaks heavily to my idea of "What are we - if we remove the 'spectrums of personification?' " - ie. Human to Animal, Gender Spectrum, Political Spectrum - "What if we remove exactly that which creates our identities?" "What's Left?" "What do we become then?"
TRANSITIONARY - ALWAYS! Only ever Being 'that which is NOW'.
To quote Huang Po : "Essential Essence partakes neither in identity or difference"
Yet, the idea that all those all parts of me helped create this 'personage' I am now, and this 'personage' I am now will create whatever shall be next...
Your journey echoes my own in very different and similar ways. May I ask your practice for letting go? What have been the consequences of that practice?
I am currently vistiing Thich Naht Hanhs root temple in Hue, Vietnam. Your questions remind me of one of his famous caligraphies; "The Way Out Is In." All blessings to you, Liam. Thank you for sharing...

Let those bones rock, rattle and role! Sing to them and smile...:)

I'll keep your invite in mind should we ever return to Thailand. For now, I enjoy reading your posts and views of this ever changing world.
So much beauty and a similar questioning. Thank you for sharing your journey. ❤️
