First, I need to properly acknowledge a few of my subscribers who courageously stepped up this last week. Along with a kind upgrade to becoming a “paid” subscriber which will help my family and I cover the basic expenses of everyday life which strangely enough teaching and farming does not afford us, I was deeply touched by the notes sent along with the payments. One new paid subscriber offered an extremely generous donation. She shared how life has been kind to her financially and because of this she is able to make a large contribution on behalf of those unable to do so, so that I can continue writing weekly without erecting a paywall. Some may recall that a few months ago I considered putting a paywall up, because times have recently been hard for my family and I financially and I thought it might encourage some to pay for my work to help ends meet. I let readers know that if I could get 10% of my readers to become paid subscribers that I would continue to offer all my work for free, to both paid and non-paid subscribers. In the end, I did not receive enough paid subscribers to meet my goal. Nonetheless I did not feel right putting up a paywall. I want my work to be available to all. As such, I continued to keep everything open, trusting that those of my readers who do have the ability to pay, will eventually do so. This is slowly starting to happen. And because of the generous contribution from this one anonymous reader in particular, many who cannot now afford a monthly donation will still be able to read everything and join all our conversations, etc. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. You know who you are.
I also want to mention another new paid subscriber who let me know that he doesn’t make much money at all, but realizes that where he choses to spend money is like casting a vote for what world we want to see. (YES!! 100%!!) I have been deeply moved by this young mans generosity. I too am tight on funds but his kind heart spoke to me and inspired me to loosen up and become a paid subscriber to another handful of writers I regularly read. Thank you brother for reaching out, supporting me, voting for a more hopeful, creative, empathetic world and inspiring me to step up and support others as well. Your actions have a ripple effect. May you be blessed tenfold.
A warm invitation to come stay with us for awhile, to learn and share together in nature, in culturally diverse community at our organic farm/eco-village in Northern Thailand.
Something special for you all this week. I have been receiving many emails from y’all recently asking how to activate and put into practice many of the things we discuss here. I have been thinking about this and it seems the best way is for us to come together! So I want to invite you to our farm. If you are at a crossroads or just feeling a strong pull to learn about another way of living, a more natural way to be human, come spend some time with us! We are accepting long-term volunteers now. Message me directly for details. I am including here a link to a list of all upcoming workshops we will be offering too in case you would like to get your hands dirty with more direct guidance. We would love to get to know you more and share with you what we have learned about living well. All courses are offered in Thai and in English.
Upcoming courses and workshops at Pun Pun Farm in Thailand
Hope to see you all soon.
All blessings,
Greg
